Cold water elbow fixed and toilet fills itself.

Last weekend we tried to run water through the cold water pipe to the second floor. We immediately realized this was a bad idea when it started raining in the house when we ran water through it. As it turns our Ralph didn't crimp one of the elbows that was plastered in one of the walls. We borrowed the crimp tool from Central Supply over in Lebanon, cut a hole in the wall and solved the problem. We were able to get off to an early start Friday night, because we were trying to make it to Central before they closed. We ended up being a few minutes late, but we caught them on the phone and they left the tool out on the porch for us.

Temporarily I used a bestpex plastic adapter to connect the PEX house plumping to the pressure tank. This leaked a lot and really wasn't designed with this purpose in mind. So, I soldered up the threaded 1-1/4" to 3/4" copper adapter so we could hook up the pressure tank to the rest of the house without leaks in the basement.

With water running through the cold water pipe, the toilet filled itself and it made the weekend go a lot smoother. This week I'll buy a crimp tool and a whole bunch of tees, elbows and shutoffs to make the plumbing in the basement look a lot cleaner and easier to drain the house when we need to.

Toward the end of Saturday, we brought the truck and trailer to the end of the driveway and packed it with the scraps of lumber left from the sawmill. We towed it up to the wood pile and started cutting it up for firewood.

We had breakfast over at the the place near Dartmouth Sunday morning and dropped the crimp tool off. On the way back we found some turkeys crossing the street near the house.

We finished up cutting the wood, cleaning the house, trash run, getting the water out of the basement and set off a few bug bombs in the house and back to the city for us before 3pm on Sunday.
