The pole barn

It’s been a long time since I’ve made an update; it’s time to get back in the habit. We had a whirlwind weekend finishing up one of our solar installations and our shed project. Here’s a picture of the shed and I’ll hopefully add some of the solar installs soon.

Today is opposite day. Wear your shirt backwards. Put your left shoe on your right foot. Comb your teeth. Brush your legs. Shave your hair. Up is down. Hot is cold.

Drastic Measures
Written by Elaina R. Bergamini

Many people feel that our way of life, the move we made from Boston to the middle of nowhere is/was drastic. My mother-in-law and her husband still feel that visiting our home is camping. In most cases, the criticism of our way of living is said in the context of justifying their own environmentally friendly choices, “you don't have to go to such drastic measures to have a smaller 'footprint'. I turn off lights. I recycle. I drive a Prius.” This generally elicits a giggle from me, followed immediately by the “what is this world coming to” train of thought.

In the beginning

We were thrilled with the attendance tonight. The Town Hall was warm and everyone was kind and interested and had great questions. It was a lot of material to cover. In opening the evening with the potluck, Dan and I were able to slowly adjust to the number of people as they trickled in. 25 people is HUGE for Grafton, whose residents can rarely agree on anything. I was intimidated. I met a lot of new people who I'm looking forward to getting to know better and I saw a lot of old friends whose faces were a comfort to me, looking out on such a large crowd.

The Wicked

Dan's cell phone rang at 2 this morning; a somewhat brutal beginning to what I fear is going to be a long, horrible day. Yes-  it is Memorial Day, but there is no rest for the wicked and we, apparently, have fallen squarely in the wicked category.

Amma – In Memory of Barbara A. Gullage – Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
Written by Daniel A. Bergamini
Thursday, 03 April 2008
I lost my Grandmother on my Mother’s side April 3rd 2008, Barbara Gullage.  I was the youngest grand-child in the family and when they tried to teach me to say Gramma and Grampa, I could only ever come out with Amma and Papa. Well, it stuck and that is what they were called by most in the family. I’m going to try and get a picture gallery setup, but until I can I felt the need to put something up. There was a recording she made before her 70th birthday and we were able to capture her funeral service.

Bullwinkle Our friends came to visit us last night and gave me quite a fright, as I'm sure I did to them. We met last spring when they were being "pursued" by a car down Turnpike Rd. It's difficult to tell from this picture, but their heads are as tall as me!

Also, please notice all the white stuff still on the ground and PITY US!!!
